This guide explains how to set up your Shelly BLU Motion with a BLE Gateway and configure the Blind Time — the interval the device waits after the last detected motion before reporting that the motion has stopped.
Here is the official video from Shelly showing you exactly how to do it:
Video Transcript
1. Open your Shelly Smart Control app.
2. For the Shelly BLU Motion to be able to report its status a gateway must be set.
3. Choose a device to act as your BLE gateway. It should be in the Bluetooth range of the Shelly BLU Motion.
4. Go to network settings and choose Bluetooth. Ensure all options are enabled.
5. Go to your Shelly BLU Motion device. Your BLE gateway should be visible here.
6. Click on device settings and select Blind Time. Blind Time is the period the device waits after the last detected motion to report the motion has stopped.
7. Set your desired duration, click save, and press the button on the device itself.
Here we have created two scenes for lights:
Example One: The lamps turn on when motion is detected.
Example Two: The lights turn off if there’s no movement for 180 seconds after the last detected motion. This delay is the Blind Time we set in the previous step.
